In 2021, Peter McVerry Trust is progressing housing projects in 28 of the 31 Local Authorities across Ireland and the charity has a pipeline of over 300 units throughout the country.
One of those projects is our first new-build apartment scheme on New Street South in Dublin City. Formerly a long-term vacant DCC site, this development is comprised of eight apartments – five one-bedroom units and three two-bedroom units – which will provide high-quality social housing.
With the total cost to kit-out each home at circa €64,000, we are asking for your support to make a house a home for people getting a key to their own door.
At Peter McVerry Trust, it is our belief that people should be given the best start in their new home. That’s why we kit-out all our new homes for people leaving homelessness, right down to the cutlery, cups and kettles, because we want people to be able to concentrate on adapting to their new home and integrating into their communities.
So, whether it’s €5 to contribute to a family’s first food shop, or the cost of kitting out an entire home, your support plays a vital role in creating a comfortable, secure home for a person leaving homelessness.
