“They contacted me and told me there would be a flat for me, so that was brilliant, before Christmas and everything. It’s ten years since I’ve had somewhere, so I’m over the moon with it. I’m able to do my own cooking and everything, which is a big thing for me.

“This is a new chapter, there’s no looking back.”

Niki was experiencing homelessness for ten years before moving into an apartment of his own in Cork City earlier this month. He’s looking forward to starting the next chapter of his life with the support of Peter McVerry Trust.
