Peter McVerry Trust’s Housing with Support service helps those who have exited homelessness and are now living in their own home.

The Housing with Supports service offers intensive, visiting support to tenants, 24/7 365 days a year. The team helps people to develop life skills, build confidence and work towards independent living and social integration. Ultimately, the service helps people to sustain their tenancy and ensure that people do not re-enter homelessness.

Peter McVerry Trust’s Housing with Supports team operates across a wide number of local authorities, but the majority of those it supports are currently located in counties Dublin, Limerick, and Louth.

The people supported are mainly single people who are housed directly by Peter McVerry Trust in our housing units. However, the team also supports couples and families and those we have helped to secure private rental accommodation and in some cases those who have now secured local authority housing.

The Housing with Supports Service also works with those in our Drug Free Aftercare Housing. These placements are reserved for people who have undergone a medical detox or treatment programme and for whom safe secure housing is a key part of the post-treatment recovery.
