Peter McVerry Trust is a nominee for three Irish Healthcare Awards 2022 – recognising our organisation’s extensive and urgent response to Covid-19.

The three categories are:

• Response to Covid-19 by a Hospital, Patient Group, Doctor or Institution
• Excellence in Healthcare Management, and
• Public Health Initiative of the Year

Peter McVerry Trust worked with the most vulnerable in society and provided protection from Covid-19 through the provision of eight isolation units facilitating; people living in homelessness, patients leaving HSE services, children in Tusla services and asylum seekers.

Throughout the course of the pandemic, our team helped over 14,000 people to self-isolate or shield through the provision of specialised accommodation that facilitated integrated care to include onsite PCR testing, general, mental health and addiction assessments, nursing care, addiction support and initiation, medication support and social care interventions.
