Watch back: PMVT on Big City Plan

Our Director of Services with Responsibility for Housing Development and Communications, Francis Doherty, appeared in a one hour documentary, Róisín Murphy’s Big City Plan, on RTÉ One on Thursday 12th May.

The documentary examined what the future holds for major urban centres and what needs to be done to make our towns and cities more liveable and sustainable.

Francis spoke to Róisín about our work converting vacant properties and derelict heritage buildings into social housing across Ireland. The interview was filmed outside The Alleys in Drogheda.

Peter McVerry Trust recently acquired a number of vacant buildings at The Alleys – a complex of houses built by The Church of Ireland for widows of clergymen in the 1700s. The units will be regenerated into new homes for 14 individuals impacted by homelessness in Louth.
