Mark, who was homeless since the age of 19, has had to overcome drug addiction and rebuild his life having moved to Ireland from South Africa as a child.  In his early twenties, Mark became addicted to drugs and ended up homeless. Since linking in with Peter McVerry Trust, Marks life has turned around. “We never had a bad experience with Peter McVerry Trust”.

With the support of our Housing First team, Mark now lives in a home of his own with his girlfriend Cathy and receives ongoing support from our Dublin team. Housing First provides a person sleeping rough, or someone who has been long-term homeless, with their own secure accommodation as well as access to specialised support services.
