The Support to Live Independently (SLÍ) initiative is a visiting support service to those with low or moderate needs who have secured independent accommodation after leaving homeless services. Given that the scheme is aimed for people with low or moderate support needs the supports last for 6 months but can be extended for another 6 months.
The aims of the scheme are to support homeless people to move on from homelessness to independent living, and to assist with reintegration into the local community. This scheme is funded by the Dublin Region Homeless Executive’s (DRHE). Peter McVerry Trust and Focus Ireland currently deliver a joint SLI programme in Dublin and have done since 2010.
