Students at our Carline Learning Centre in Lucan are looking forward to growing their own vegetables this year. The planters, kindly donated by ISG Construction and Shannon Valley Group over the summer, will teach the teenagers gardening skills and healthy eating habits.
The Centre’s kitchen will use the fresh produce in the student’s daily lunches and, if the crops are successful, vegetable boxes will be sent home to their families.
The Carline Learning Centre is an education centre based in Lucan which caters for young people aged 13-17 years old, excluded from or no longer attending mainstream education.
PMVT Learning Centres work with young people who cannot access mainstream education due to a number of circumstances, for example: need for further learning support, educational, emotional, social or behavioural challenges.
We aim to provide young people with a high-quality education program which meets the students’ individual learning needs and maximises their intrinsic abilities to engage in continued learning. Furthermore, we aim to enable young people to recognise the positive impact education has on their future development.
