Peter McVerry Trust opened its first regional office in Limerick during December 2016.
The charity provides number of services across the Mid West region. These include housing services, homeless services, prevention services, Aftercare housing and resettlement services.
In 2022, we supported 711 unique individuals across our services in the Mid West.
Housing
The opening of our Mid West regional office in Limerick in December 2016 marked the beginning of our social housing programme in the city and county. The programme sees our team supporting a number of formerly homeless people, providing 24-hour care.
The charity also provides housing and aftercare services in Co Clare and began delivering social housing in the county in November 2019.
In May 2021, Peter McVerry Trust commenced work on a major housing project that will deliver 38 new social housing units in the Moyross and Southill areas of Limerick City. The project is our largest to date and is scheduled for completion in December 2021.
Prevention
We also work with Moyross Youth Academy to train young people to make furniture, which is then used in our accommodation. This is part of our prevention work in Limerick. Watch the video below to learn more.
