Our Director of Services with Responsibility for Housing Development and Communications, Francis Doherty, appeared on the Eco Eye special on Dereliction on Tuesday 15th February.
In the programme, presenter Duncan Stewart examines why Ireland has one of the highest rates of vacancy and dereliction in Europe and the steps that can be taken to tackle this issue. He considers how addressing vacancy and dereliction in our cities and towns could be the key to dealing with repairing sprawl, increasing housing stock and improving urban environments.
Francis spoke to the Eco Eye team about our work with vacant properties across Ireland and bringing these homes back to life as social housing. One of our Repair and Leasing properties in Dublin features as a case study on how to bring transform derelict properties.
