Paul and his daughter stayed in of Peter McVerry Trust’s family hub services in Dublin before moving into a private rental property.

“We became homeless when we had to leave the family home. I had been in a relationship for 11 years. There were three kids involved but only one of the girls was mine. I had to leave with my daughter,” he says.

They lived in a B&B in Dublin city centre before moving into one of Peter McVerry Trust’s family hub services. After a few months in the service, they found their own home.

“Most people have heard of Peter McVerry Trust, but I never knew they did anything like the hub that had been in,” he says.

“And then it was the work of Peter McVerry Trust and the Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) that helped me get my own apartment. Just even to have my own telly, my own property… you know how much that can be achieved with the support that’s there,” he says.

“It’s amazing the work that Peter McVerry Trust does. I was blown away by the support and the continued support that they give you, even after you move on from the hub. I couldn’t praise them enough for the work that they do.”
