Work commenced in May 2021 and the major project at Moyross and Southill in Limerick City is Peter McVerry Trust’s largest housing project to date.
The project will deliver 38 rapid build modular homes comprised of 22 two-bedroom units and 16 three-bedroom units, of which 24 will be in Moyross and 14 in Southill. 14 units were completed in Moyross in March 2023 with the remainder still under construction.
The infill project is part of the larger Regeneration programme underway in Limerick. The modular units are being manufactured locally in the Galvone Industrial Estate, Southill. A social clause in the contract of works ensures employment pathways for local people as part of the construction and factory work involved in the project.
The scheme is being delivered in partnership with Limerick City and County Council under Rebuilding Ireland.
