Hogan Court is a block of 12 former local authority flats. The units, which had been used predominantly to provide social housing to older individuals, had fallen into very poor state of repair and a most of the units were vacant. Due to vandalism and dereliction many of the units required extensive renovation in order to make them habitable.
This project was a unique partnership involving the Construction Industry Federation and its members, and Peter McVerry Trust together with Fitzgerald, Kavanagh and Partners and Dublin City Council. The CIF’s members gave their time free of charge and secured materials to
The work started in September 2015 and was completed in December 2015, a project span of 12 weeks, costing in the region of €1 million.
All those housed in the units have been impacted by homelessness and have come from Dublin City Council’s housing list.
