When a person sleeping is rough is given a key to their own door through our Housing First programme, they are coming directly from unsupported or inadequate accommodation like a tent or squat and have little or no personal belongings.
Helping us kit out a home for someone sleeping rough means that upon moving in, the person has essential items like clean linen and towels, new clothes, food and household appliances.
Peter McVerry Trust is the largest provider of Housing First services in Ireland, delivering 61% of services under the National Housing First Implementation Plan.
In 2022, we supported 1,113 people out of rough sleeping or long-term homelessness and into their own home across Ireland.
