Peter McVerry Trust is delighted to announce it has appointed Francis Doherty as its next CEO. The appointment follows the conclusion of an extensive recruitment campaign in recent months prompted by a decision by the outgoing CEO, Pat Doyle, to step down from his role as CEO after almost 19 years with the organisation.
The appointment of Francis Doherty follows an extensive and comprehensive recruitment process led by Principal Connections over the last few months with strong interest in the role from across the sector. The interview panel was chaired by Bob Jordan, Chief Executive of the Housing Agency and included founder Fr Peter McVerry, Deirdre-Ann Barr, Chair of Peter McVerry Trust and Terry McCabe, Director & Chair of the HR Committee.
Deirdre-Ann Barr, Chair of Peter McVerry Trust said “I am delighted that we have secured such a high-quality CEO in Francis Doherty. Fr Peter McVerry, founder of Peter McVerry Trust said “As founder, I strongly believe that we have found the best candidate for CEO in Francis. Mr Doherty has worked with Peter McVerry Trust since 2012 and has held various areas of responsibility for the organisation during that time leading the charity’s advocacy, communications, fundraising and housing development work. Mr Doherty’s appointment as CEO will take effect from the 1st June 2023.
