Opening Doors for Christmas

This Christmas Peter McVerry Trust is working across Ireland to support and care for people in need. Already in 2022, we have helped over 10,000 vulnerable people in towns and cities in nearly every county in Ireland.

With your support, we will continue to respond with practical, dignified responses to the needs of people accessing our services each and every day.

Peter McVerry Trust will help in any way we can. Helping people to secure that all important new home. Supporting families to deal with the cost-of-living. Ensuring our tenants have the supports they need to manage their bills and avoid fuel poverty. Or simply providing people with the advice and information they need to avoid falling into homelessness in the first place.

By donating to Peter McVerry Trust’s annual Christmas appeal, you can help provide the support people need right now in communities across the country.

Donate today and help open doors for people most in need this Christmas.

Jason’s story

“Talk about the best Christmas present you could ever get in your life. Literally the best Christmas present. I’ve come from the streets, gone into treatment and then this is just like a dream. I viewed the apartment and it was absolutely mind-blowing. Everything is brand spanking new, it’s absolutely immaculate. I keep pinching myself just to make sure it’s actually happening.”

Jason was homeless for many years and unfortunately is also living with a terminal cancer diagnosis. Last Christmas, he moved into his own apartment in a brand new Peter McVerry Trust development in Dublin – giving him the “best Christmas present you could ever get in your life”.

Mick’s story

“I found out Christmas week that Peter McVerry Trust had an apartment for me. I was over the moon. I have a home of my own, after all the years of homelessness. I couldn’t be happier. Thank you.”

Mick spent three years sleeping rough before being supported into his own home in Westmeath through Peter McVerry Trust’s Housing First programme.
