It is critical that people who are rough sleeping in Dublin are encouraged to access homeless services. We want to reduce the number of people who sleep rough. The longer a person sleeps rough, the greater the risk that they will become trapped on the streets and vulnerable to becoming a victim of crime, developing drug or alcohol problems, or experiencing problems with their health.
If you spot someone sleeping rough in Dublin, you can log their location on the Dublin Region Homeless Executive’s website here. The Housing First Intake Team will visit the location multiple times over a 72 hour period to find the individual and will engage with them so they can establish the best way to support that person.
The Dublin Region Housing First Service is jointly operated by Focus Ireland/Peter McVerry Trust and is funded by the Dublin Region Homeless Executive.
