Jimmy is now living in his own home after receiving support from Peter McVerry Trust. He has been living independently since the summer of 2016.

Speaking about his home, Jimmy says: “I find the place absolutely beautiful. It’s very well laid out and very compact. Everything is perfect.

“To do as you want with it and not be worrying…you can invite people up and have the place looking nice for them, which is something I couldn’t do before.”

To Jimmy, the most important aspect of having the security of a house is the independence it offers him.

“To have my own key, to walk into my own place is excellent. Not to be beholden to anyone else or looking for places or anything like that. Just to have your own place to call home is brilliant. It’s hard to describe, really. Happiness is the main thing,” he concludes.
