Pat is the resident of an apartment in Limerick managed by Peter McVerry Trust. Before entering homelessness, Pat had owned his own property.
“It was difficult. I had a great life [before], I had everything,” he says.
He lived in a hostel in the city, but after engaging with Peter McVerry Trust through Limerick County Council he secured a one-bedroom apartment in the city centre.
“Since I moved in here, life has been fantastic. A complete change in my life and it’s getting better every day,” he says. “It’s lovely and relaxed and just watch what I want on television, no noise, make a cup of tea when I want a cup of tea. I haven’t been this happy in donkey’s years, that’s being honest now.”
